ubuntu:6.4.5 no progress unless mouse moves
(Message 3804)
Posted 402 days ago by -ShEm- Are you sure no progress is done? I'm on Fedora 11 (64bit) using BOINC 6.6.31. When opening the manager it updates rarely. If I move the mouse around in the window it'll update every second. When i stop, it updates at what seems to be increasing interval, like 5 second, then 10 seconds later, then 20 seconds later etc. But all the time WU's are still being processed. I use Conky to show top 5 processes and their CPU usage on desktop, GkrellM could also be used or even just top in terminal. |

Run Times

Posted 420 days ago by -ShEm- Seems many people have forgotten the risks of joining a project in alpha phase (as opposed to beta or production phase), amongst which are: Getting low or no credit for work done. Removal of all previously credits granted when project moves to beta or production. If you don't want to take those risks, don't join an alpha project! It's that simple. Note to admins: Perhaps put it somewhere on front page, that the project is in alpha? |

Posted 424 days ago by -ShEm- But a 64-bit OS is definitely a big advantage. ;-) From what I can see, not on Linux 64-bit... yet... Q9450 @ 2.66 (Fedora 11 x86_64, BOINC 6.6.31 (64bit), AQUA 2.29(mt)): 08jul09-200-4M-64-a_34_62: Elapsed 09:05:25, CPU 21:43:28, done 4,205% E7300 @ 2.66 (Windows Server 2008 x86, BOINC 6.6.28 (32bit), AQUA 2.29(mt)): 08jul09-200-4M-64-a_37_68: Elapsed 08:01:00, CPU 10:20:54, done 12,923% Something seems slightly off there ;) |
